# 133 Thirteen year old girl works in rubbish dump in the morning and attends CCF school in the afternoon!

Dear Scott

This morning I met a shy 13 year old girl who works in the Phnom Penh rubbish dump in the mornings and goes to school at CCF in the afternoon. Her father died five years ago. Her mother has five children to rear. She is the oldest.

I conducted a videotaped interview with her.

This girl told me the Cambodian Children’s Fund gives the family 5 kilos of rice each month. That’s less than $10 worth of rice per month or roughly $120 worth of rice each year.

In the IRS tax return of 2013 CCF claimed to be spending $2,000 per year per child on education. Does this mean that there is an entry in CCF’s books, with this girl’s name alongside it, and the sum of $2,000?

To put this another way, have sponsors and donors given CCF $2,000 towards the education of this girl?

I doubt very much that you will answer this question but if you do, please do the sums for me, and for others interested.

It seems to me (though I have never been much good at maths), if CCF has $2,000 to spend on this girl’s education, that $120 per annum is going to the family and $1,880 is going to CCF. The family’s entire income for the year is around $1,000.

If my maths here is wrong, please enlighten me with the correct maths.

No doubt the usual Neeson Trolls will attack me for the usual reasons but really, Scott, it is time for you to answer some questions.

This little girl, young woman, also told me that of the 700 people working in the Phnom Penh rubbish dump, 100 of them are children.

Why, given the millions of dollars you have at your disposal, are there any children at all working in the rubbish dump? And how can you, with a clear conscience, Scott, allow a 13 year old to be both working in the dump and attending a CCF school whilst you provide each member of this family with only 10 kilos of rice per year?

I showed a photograph of you to members of the community. Not one of them has ever seen you and has no idea who you are. Given that many of these people have lived in the same place for years now it would seem, as with much else of what you claim about yourself, that it is not true that you are a regular visitor to the communities you claim to be helping.

I have not mentioned this girl’s name because I know the pressure she and her family would be placed under to recant what she told me. Alternatively, you could shower the family with money and maybe even give the girl (and her mother) jobs with CCF and buy their silence that way.

I look forward to your response, Scott, though I think I would have to sit down in a state of shock of you were to provide one. Instead, you will relegate the name-calling and shooting of the messenger to your Trolls.

cheers

James

  1. Where is the press as a human interest story on this? 5 kilos of rice a MONTH for a family of 6!!! What a big heart the POVERTY PIMP has! Pol Pot would have fed them better!!

    1. 0.027 kilos per person per day. Starvation ration. Meanwhile, CCF pockets around $5.50 a day for educating this girl!

There is nothing wrong with your maths, Mr Rickets. There is something badly wrong with Neeson's though

  2. Is there any window into the world of Scott Neeson that, when you look through it, you do not discover yet another scam? Somaly Mam was lynched by the media for far less than what Neeson seems to be guilty of!

  3. Some time ago a wealthy man told me that he could make more money by taking advantage of the poor than from his wealthy friends; Scott seems to understand that principle very well.
David Fletcher did not attempt to make money for himself, rather he only wanted to help the kids...........he would call me or write me during the times when he was working with the kids and speak with great joy about the kids he was helping.
Now In prison for five years because he was framed by S.N; I believe that one day, Mr. Fletcher will be free and I also believe that one day God will judge both men...........I suspect that God has a special reward due Scott and I believe that Scott is not going to like it a whole lot...........he has lived high while keeping the children and their families poor............for money. Bribing officials to keep his scheme going.......Karma is a hard master.

  4. A few years ago I heard a story from a source that I consider to be reliable. It was about a Cambodian businessman who went bankrupt. Lost everything. He needed to start from scratch and rebuild his fortune. He was a savvy businessman and, having looked at a variety of get-rich-quick schemes decided that opening 'orphanages' was the most viable. So, he opened one 'orphanage' and then another and then another and was soon back in the game. A rich man.

I know from many a conversation over the years with people who have never visited Cambodia, that they are easily won over by by a narrative that goes something like this:

Cambodia is a basket-case. Thank God there are wonderful people like XXX who, out of the goodness of their hearts are rescuing these cute little kids from XXX."

Its a sure-fire winner. Who can look at a photo of a cute kid with doe-like eyes who has been rescued by XXX from YYY.

Scott Neeson is not alone in relying on a narrative of this kind to keep the dollars flowing into his NGOs coffers. There are plenty of others.

I am not sure that God has a plan for either Scott Neeson or David Fletcher, but I do believe that Neeson's House of Cards will inevitably collapse in a heap.

I first got wind that Somaly Mam was not quite who she appeared to be in 2005 - 9 years before her lies were exposed. As far as I can tell, Somaly Mam's main crime was that she lied about her past and got some of her 'girls' to lie about their pasts also. No doubt she figured that she was lying for a good cause and that the ends justified the means.

For me, Somaly Mam's lies pale in comparison to Scott Neeson's. The difference between what he ways he does and what he actually does is so great now that I do not believe a word he says. Not that he says anything at all that can be challenged these days. He does not speak to journalists, bloggers or filmmakers. He is totally reliant on Facebook and his PR machine to create and sustain the narrative that both delivers a constant stream of dollars and boots his ego through the presentation of himself as a secular saint. And lazy journalists looking for -feelgood content lap up Neeson's lies and publish as 'news' whatever he writes about himself.

  5. Ricketson, how can you expect Neeson to help this impoverished family. He only has $6.1 M in cash and investments at CCF end of 2014?

  7. I feel utterly saddened on reading about Scott Neeson's scam.........and that is just what it is on a huge scale. To cheat such poor people is despicable, all I can hope for is that he will eventually be found out.

I am also concerned as a Mother, just who is the young girl he is cuddling up to ? Is this a girl he looks after ? Helps to educate ? Or a relative ? I dont think she looks particularly happy to be having his arms around her. Totally inappropriate.

    1. My perspective, as a man, is that Neeson's right hand is squeezing this teenage girl just a little too tightly for it to be just an affectionate hug. The girl's right hand on Neeson's upper arm can be read in two ways, as what she thinks she needs to do to get whatever she wants from Neeson or as what she thinks Neeson expects from her. She's a pretty girl about a third of Neeson's age and it all seems a bit creepy to me.

  8. Neeson probably spends as much or more on bribes to the local news media, law enforcement, judges and others who threaten to expose him than he actually spends the donated funds on the poor children and their families. I do believe that his scam operations will eventually be exposed, and those who chose to keep quiet will be exposed as well. They will all learn that karma can be hell.

    1. what a load of bullshit! On what basis do you say that Neeson will eventually be exposed and where is your evidence that he is paying bribes. Another dreamt up story from a fuckwit keyboard warrior who is living in a land of delusion.

    2. If you had any decency,Mr Ricketson, if you do not want to leave yourself open to defamation charges, you should delete this comment and others like it. Why do you allow them to remain?

    3. Neeson I hope you sue Ricketson in Australia and Cambodia for the above comment - 'probably spends as much on bribes" - in other words the fuckwit who wrote that comment doesn't have a clue and is just making up lies. That is straight out defamation. Ive taken a screen shot of it so even if Ricketson does delete it, I will happily send it to Neeson so he can put Ricketson back in his box where he belongs. You are a disgrace Rickets

    5. Dear Anonymous 7.06

When I started this blog (check back if you need to) I made it clear that I would not be censoring it.

The only comments that I have deleted (3, I think) are those that have (in my opinion) defamed someone who is on the periphery of this debate. I have not deleted one of the defamatory comments made about myself or the defamatory comments made about David Fletcher.

I have relied of the innate intelligence of readers to distinguish between what may be true (and so worthy of consideration) and what is clearly nonsense.

If Scott Neeson wishes to sue me in either Cambodia or Australia he is free to do so. I think he will not, for one very simple reason: He hopes, as does the CCF Board, as does World Housing and the World Housing Board, that to take any such legal action would only bring many more people to the attention of various scams than know of them through this blog.

It could also be, if the subject of defamation comes up, that journalists and others might start to ask Scott about the comments he made back in 2010 about David Fletcher

“There is little doubt Fletcher devotes his time to grooming young girls….The fact is these children can be bought. It’s difficult to stop it. The British Embassy have been told about Fletcher. Many organizations have files on him, but nothing has happened. If you can get this guy sent packing you are doing a service to the children here.”

Scott Neeson, speaking to journalist Andrew Drummond in June 2010. Fletcher was ‘sent packing’ one month later and has been in jail ever since, having been denied a trial.

“Little doubt!” is one of those slippery expressions intended to vilify but which leaves Neeson with a ‘Get Out Of Jail Free’ card of sorts if it turns out that there is no evidence that Fletcher devoted “his time to grooming young girls.”

Scott Neeson’s background is in marketing. He knows how to use words to sell his product (children in distress) or to destroy the reputation of a competitor – in this case, David Fletcher.

Did Scott Neeson have any evidence to support his defamatory assertion that Fletcher was grooming young girls? There is none to be found in Andrew Drummond’s 20th June 2010 article.Nor has Scott Neeson provided any evidence at all to the police, the courts or to myself. I have asked on several occasions. This particular defamation played a very significant role in the arrest of David Fletcher and in his subsequent conviction without trial.

In any country in which rule of law applied, Mr Fletcher could (if he were not in jail and without the means to do so) sue Scott Neeson for defamation.

So, Scot, as I know you will be reading this (regardless of what your Trolls may assert) if you want to go down the 'defamation' route, please do. I would welcome the opportunity to place a lot of things on record - both for the benefit of the court and for the court of public opinion.

  10. The only one who can answer the question about what was going on in the picture of Neeson holding the girl, is the person who took the picture. From just looking at it, it is clear that its not a CCF picture - it looks like neeson is drunk or on drugs and he has dropped the girl.
