Phillip
Hammond
Foreign
Secretary
Parliamentary House of Commons
London SW1A
12th November 2014
Dear Mr Hammond
Mr Fletcher learned today from prison
authorities that his next hearing at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court will occur
on 27th Nov 2014. Despite having been promised by the court that he
would be provided with a lawyer, none has been provided to date.
Could you please let both Mr Fletcher
and myself know when we might expect to receive a letter from the Foreign &
Commonwealth Office confirming that the British Embassy both cancelled and then
destroyed Mr Fletcher’s passport and did not make photocopies of the pages
relevant to his movement in March 2009.
Could you please also let us know if the
British Embassy in Cambodia will be offering Mr Fletcher any assistance at all
as he prepares for the 27th. Nov hearing? And will the Embassy have
a representative present during the hearing?
best wishes
James Ricketson
